Exploring Color Country Tour 10/18/2022 - Deposit

Experience the red rock wonderland of northern Arizona and southern Utah like never before. From deep within the canyon walls of the Paria wilderness to the soaring cliffs of the Grand Canyon, you'll find yourself fully immersed in the breathtaking geology of the American Southwest. 


The eight-day tour from October 18 - 25 departs from Page, Arizona - the heart of the Grand Circle - via touring van. Each day is packed with exciting hiking opportunities in the American backcountry with renowned guide and author, Christa Sadler. Visit scenic Cottonwood Canyon for an up-close look at some of the most impressive tectonic movement on the Colorado Plateau. Observe ancient history at Flag Point. Delve deep into the earth at Buckskin Gulch and wind your way up the colorful Vermilion Cliffs. 


NOTE: This is a deposit payment only. The full cost of the trip is $2,925.79 to be paid in completion by no later than September 27, 2022.  The remainder for the full cost of the trip may be paid by phone to 928.660.7887 or by mailing a check to Glen Canyon Conservancy Attn: Field School P.O. Included in the trip for registered participants are nightly hotels, lunch, as well as welcome and farewell dinners. Your hiking guide and instructor, Christa Sadler, is well versed in the subjects of geology, paleontology, human history, and more. Participants are responsible for their gear. Prepare for hiking in the desert which includes varied temperatures and uneven terrain. Sales tax will not be charged as Glen Canyon Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

  • Cancellation and Refund Policy

    Registration payments are fully refundable, less a $35 processing fee, if cancellation takes place at least 30 days before the course. No refunds will be made for cancellations received fewer than 30 days before the start of the course. Glen Canyon Field School reserves the right to cancel a course up to 30 days before the first class day. If we cancel, you will receive a full refund.

    We regret that we cannot make exceptions to the refund policy for any reason, including, but not limited to, illness, travel delays, emergencies, or weather. We strongly urge you to take out accident, baggage, and trip cancellation insurance through a travel agent. Travel insurance can help protect you against financial loss if you must cancel or interrupt your trip.
